Volunteer Ranger Program

Sun City AZ has long been known as the “City of Volunteers” and the volunteer ranger program may be just the ticket for golfers looking for a way to give back to the community.  The golfers/residents of Sun City AZ were instrumental in the creation of this program which helps preserve and protect the beauty of RCSC golf courses.  If you’re passionate about the game of golf and the conditions on the courses in Sun City, why not consider becoming a volunteer ranger?

Program Goals

The goal of the volunteer ranger program is:

  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Enforce the rules and regulations and enhance safety
  • Maintain the flow of play on the golf course
  • Verify greens fees and handicap permits
  • Handle player concerns as needed

Ranger Compensation:

Volunteer rangers receive the following compensation for their efforts:

  • For every 4 hours a Ranger works, they receive a $2 golf pass. The golf passes are paid the following month for the previous month’s hours worked. The Ranger must work a minimum of 16 hours a month to receive this benefit.
  • If the Ranger uses their own cart, they will receive $1.50 for every hour worked for gas and wear and tear on the cart. This benefit is paid quarterly.

For more information, please contact Jaye Sprague, Lead Ranger, at 513-312-0087. The volunteer rangers normally meet on the last Thursday of each month at 1pm in Talisman Hall (at the Lakes West Golf Course) except in June, July and August.
