RCSC to acquire Duffeeland dog park

Purchased in 2004 by Bob Knight, the Duffeeland dog park has become a community gathering spot for Sun City residents and their furry friends.  Located on the Del Webb Boulevard just behind/beside Washington Federal Bank across from the LaRonde center, Duffeeland dog park has become a popular place for Sun City residents to congregate over the past eight years.  After acquiring this property, Mr. Knight turned it into a dog park and has maintained the property without compensation, along with a group of volunteers, for the benefit of Sun City residents and their dogs.  Recently Mr. Knight approached the RCSC Board of Directors to see if they would be willing to purchase the property to ensure its continued use as a dog park and neighborhood assembly area.  The RCSC will officially purchase this property as of January 2013.  RCSC asks for the continued support of this park with volunteer maintenance and support within the community.

“Bob’s generosity and community spirit are to be commended,” declared RCSC President Vance Coleman, “He has provided an excellent amenity for Sun City residents all these years and we cannot thank him enough!”  Mr. Knight will continue to maintain the park until January 2013 when the acquisition by RCSC will conclude.
