A game overview
500 is a card game played with a 45-card deck. Playing as partners, there is a round of bidding to determine the number of tricks to be taken and trump suit. The player winning the bid gets the 5-card crib which is used to enhance their hand. With their partner, taking at least the number of tricks bid adds points to the team’s score. Not winning the bid removes the points. After four hands points are totaled and everyone gets a new partner.
Typically, eight rounds are played. A very small cash prize is awarded to the evening’s high scorers.
