Assistant General Manager Report – December 2016

General Information

  • Toilets and lavatories at all on-course golf restrooms are now replaced. Roofing contractor was DFG Builders (cost $24,104); painting by Exquisite Painting; lavatories and toilets completed by the RCSC Skilled Trades plumber (cost – $24,857). The four doors (two at Lakes West and two at Quail Run) are still on order with D.H. Pace and will be installed as soon as they arrive from the manufacturer (cost – $3,961).

Lakeview Center

  • A new floating dock on Viewpoint Lake has been installed. Since the new dock rides higher on the lake than the old dock, new boat loading platforms and gates will be installed as soon as they are received. The new dock is expected to reopen by the end of December 2016 (weather permitting). Contractor was Floatation Systems and the RCSC Skilled Trades team (cost – $69,095).
  • The security fencing at Lakeview Hillside Park is now completed except for the tie-in of the new fence to the boat ramp fencing. Contractor is Save-On Fence. (Cost – $21,800)

Bell Center

  • The Bell Visitor Center moved to their temporary building on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 while the RCSC remodels the permanent visitor center location. The demolition is completed and plans are underway to rebuild the HVAC duct system and west facing windows. The remodeled visitor center will include an automatic entrance door, reconfiguring of interior walls, LED lighting, new ceilings, windows, doors, flooring, furniture, literature displays and new fire alarm panel and sprinkler heads. Contractor is Ken McIntyre Construction (cost – $132,152).

Marinette Center

  • The replacement of the west parking lot at Marinette Center is now completed. The project required the rebuilding of the subgrade in the south section which increased the cost of the project. The parking lot was reopened to cardholders on Saturday, December 10, 2016 (cost – $192,475).
  • Plans are underway to seal coat and restripe the south parking lot at Marinette. This will require a two phase process to complete the work and keep the center open to cardholders. The seal coating will be completed in late December 2016 (weather permitting). The contractor is Regional Paving (cost – $5,125).

Willowcreek/Willowbrook Maintenance

  • The Willowcreek/Willowbrook maintenance building is progressing very well. The concrete slab floor is poured and the steel building structure is currently being erected. Contractors are Doege Construction, CCBG Architectural and Bunger Steel (PIF Cost – $1,881,825).

Skilled Trades Department

  • The RCSC Skilled Trades Department completed 222 work orders during the last two weeks of November and the first two weeks of December 2016.

Centers Operations

  • Congratulations to Alan Jones, utility worker at Marinette Center on his 5-year anniversary with the RCSC. Alan makes a big contribution to the successful operation of this center.
  • Christmas trees, wreaths, poinsettias and other decorations are up at all centers and golf course pro and snack shops. Thank you for the teamwork of RCSC employees at all locations for taking on this project.
