Sea Chanters Chorus to Appear at Sun Bowl on March 12

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The Recreation Centers of Sun City, Inc. is pleased to announce a very special community event coming to the Sun Bowl Auditorium on Monday, March 12, 2018 when the Sea Chanters Chorus from Washington, D.C. will perform and entertain beginning at 6:00pm in this unique Sun City AZ venue.

The Sea Chanters, the dynamic chorus of the United States Navy Band, have appeared throughout the United States, and perform frequently at the White House, the Vice President’s house, and for dignitaries at Washington embassies.

As the official chorus of the United States Navy, and one of five performing units of the United States Navy Band, the Sea Chanters promote the Navy’s proud heritage of the sea. The repertoire of this twenty-voice chorus, accompanied by piano, bass and drums, encompasses all types of choral music, including sea chanteys, patriotic selections, folk songs, sacred hymns, and the diverse sounds of opera and Broadway.

The Sun Bowl Amphitheater, located on 107th Avenue just south of Peoria Avenue, is an open air venue which requires concert goers to bring their own lawn chair and/or blanket for this performance. Seating on the dance floor is reserved for those who are physically challenged. There will be no gourmet food vendors for this event, but snacks and beverages in non-glass containers may be brought in. Should windy or stormy weather be a factor, this evening concert will be relocated to the Sundial Auditorium (103rd & Boswell Blvd). Call 623-972-6014 for a message regarding venue change.
