RCSC Moves into Phase Two of Reopening Plan

On August 27, 2020, Maricopa County met Moderate Reopening Status in the following three metrics: 1) Cases per 100,000 individuals, 2) Percent positivity, and 3) Hospital Visits for COVID-like illnesses in the region allowing RCSC Fitness Centers to reopen with limited capacity on Friday, August 28, 2020 and Recreation Centers of Sun City, Inc. to move into Phase Two of its reopening plan. The following is the criteria for use of RCSC facilities:

REQUIREMENTS FOR USE OF ALL RCSC FACILITIES – Revised 1/18/2021

  • Prior to entering RCSC facilities, RCSC has implemented COVID-19 symptom screening with signage. Please read and evaluate whether you meet the criteria to enter RCSC facilities. Anyone with potential symptoms may not enter or use RCSC facilities. High-risk individuals should remain at home.
  • Hand sanitizer is required upon entry to all RCSC facilities and offices. Users may utilize the sanitizer provided by RCSC.
  • A limited number of users may be permitted at one time, once capacity has been reached you may be asked to return later as no congregating is allowed.
  • Face masks are always required while indoors except in showers, indoor pools and indoor spas. Outdoors face masks are required in the walking pool. Face masks are required to be cloth, fabric or other permeable material and must be worn over the mouth and nose, affixed either over the ears or tied around the head. Face shields, bandanas, and face masks with vents or valves are not permitted.
  • Strict 6 feet of physical distancing is required while in the fitness centers, indoor walking track, locker rooms and restrooms regardless if in same family. All other RCSC facilities require a minimum of 6 feet of physical distancing, regardless if in same family, excluding an occasional situation when such is not possible.
  • Required to sanitize before and after use of every RCSC piece of equipment, including seating, counters and tables, utilizing the sanitation method provided by RCSC.

BASKETBALL – CLOSED UNTIL PHASE 3

BILLIARDS – Reopens on Friday 9/4/2020

  • Billiards will be CLOSED for sanitation daily from 2pm – 3pm.
  • Face masks are required. Only 2 players per table. Use of only every other table allowed. No guests allowed.
  • Always requires a minimum of 6 feet of physical distancing, regardless if in same family, excluding an occasional situation when such is not possible.
  • Cardholders are required to sanitize before and after use of every RCSC piece of equipment (pool sticks, cue ball, pool balls, etc.), including table railing, seating, counters and side tables, utilizing the sanitation method provided by RCSC.

BOATING, PADDLE BOATS – CLOSED UNTIL PHASE 3

BOATING, ROW BOATS

  • Only 1 person per boat. No guests allowed.
  • Always requires a minimum of 6 feet of physical distancing while on RCSC property, regardless if in same family, excluding an occasional situation when such is not possible.
  • RCSC will sanitize life vest, oars and cushion after each use.
  • Cardholders are required to sanitize before and after use of every RCSC piece of equipment not sanitized by RCSC (see above), including seating, counters and tables, utilizing the sanitation method provided by RCSC.

BOCCE

  • Use of every other rink with only 3 bowlers (effective 9/1/2020) allowed at end of each rink in use. No guests allowed.
  • Always requires a minimum of 6 feet of physical distancing, regardless if in same family, excluding an occasional situation when such is not possible.
  • Limited use of tables and chairs always requiring 6 feet of physical distancing regardless if in same family.
  • Cardholders are required to sanitize before and after use of every RCSC piece of equipment, including seating, counters and tables, utilizing the sanitation method provided by RCSC.

BOWLING – Reopened Friday 9/4/2020; Leagues Reopen Monday 11/9/2020

  • Bowling Centers will be CLOSED for sanitation daily from 2pm – 3pm.
  • Face masks are required. Every other lane open with only 3 bowlers allowed per lane.
  • Always requires a minimum of 6 feet of physical distancing, regardless if in same family, excluding an occasional situation when such is not possible.
  • Every other lane open with 4 bowlers allowed per lane.
  • No use of concourse tables and chairs is allowed.
  • Cardholders are required to sanitize before and after use of every RCSC piece of equipment, including seating, counters and tables, utilizing the sanitation method provided by RCSC.

DARTS – Reopened Friday 9/4/2020

  • Darts will be CLOSED for sanitation daily from 2pm – 3pm.
  • Face masks are required. Only 2 players and 1 table and 2 chairs per machine allowed. No guests allowed.
  • Always requires a minimum of 6 feet of physical distancing, regardless if in same family, excluding an occasional situation when such is not possible.
  • Cardholders are required to sanitize before and after use of every RCSC piece of equipment, including seating, counters and tables, utilizing the sanitation method provided by RCSC.

DOG PARK

  • Hand sanitizer required upon entry. Only 1 person per bench. No guests allowed.
  • Always requires a minimum of 6 feet of physical distancing, regardless if in same family, excluding an occasional situation when such is not possible.
  • Limited use of tables and chairs with maximum of 2 chairs per table and always requiring 6 feet of physical distancing regardless if in same family.
  • Cardholders are required to sanitize before and after use of every RCSC piece of equipment, including seating and tables, utilizing the sanitation method provided by RCSC.

FISHING

  • Only 1 person per bench. No use of gazebos. No guests allowed.
  • Always requires a minimum of 6 feet of physical distancing, regardless if in same family, excluding an occasional situation when such is not possible.
  • Cardholders are required to sanitize before and after use of every RCSC piece of equipment, including seating and tables. utilizing the sanitation method provided by RCSC.

FITNESS INCLUDING INDOOR TRACK

  • All Fitness including the Indoor Track at Fairway will be CLOSED for sanitation daily from 12pm – 1pm.
  • No guests allowed.
  • Face masks are required. Each fitness center will allow 25% capacity at one time. Once capacity has been reached, you will be asked to return later as no congregating is allowed.
  • Cardholders must go directly to Fitness Area OR Track at time of check in and must check out with the Facility Attendant prior to leaving or using any other amenity.
  • Strict 6 feet of physical distancing is required while using fitness, indoor walking track, locker rooms and restrooms regardless if in same family.
  • Cardholders are required to sanitize before and after use of every RCSC piece of equipment, including seating, counters and tables, utilizing the sanitation method provided by RCSC.
  • Every other piece of cardio equipment will be turned off to maintain at least 6 feet of space between users.
  • When using strength machines or other equipment, users are required to maintain strict physical distancing of 6 feet or more.
  • No outside equipment allowed into the facility, including but not limited to, mats, exercise balls, weights, and foam rollers.
  • We strongly encourage Cardholders to bring their own water with secure lids to rehydrate.
  • No use of auditoriums, social halls, hallways or other indoor RCSC facilities for walking.

GOLF COURSES, PRO SHOPS, SNACK SHOPS

  • Face masks required inside Pro Shops and Snack Shops.
  • Always requires a minimum of 6 feet of physical distancing, regardless if in same family unless riding in same golf cart, excluding an occasional situation when such is not possible.
  • Limited use of tables and chairs always requiring 6 feet of physical distancing regardless if in same family. Chairs may not be moved from one table to the other.
  • RCSC will sanitize rental carts, snack shop tables and chairs and patio tables and chairs after each use.
  • Cardholders are required to sanitize before and after use of every RCSC piece of equipment except that sanitized by RCSC (see above), including seating, counters and tables, utilizing the sanitation method provided by RCSC.

HILLSIDE PARK

  • Only 1 person per bench. No use of gazebos allowed. No guests allowed.
  • Always requires a minimum of 6 feet of physical distancing, regardless if in same family, excluding an occasional situation when such is not possible.
  • Cardholders are required to sanitize before and after use of every RCSC piece of equipment, including seating, utilizing the sanitation method provided by RCSC.

HORSESHOES

  • Only 3 players (effective 9/1/2020) at end of each court in use. No guests allowed.
  • Always requires a minimum of 6 feet of physical distancing, regardless if in same family, excluding an occasional situation when such is not possible.
  • Cardholders are required to sanitize before and after use of every RCSC piece of equipment, including seating and tables, utilizing the sanitation method provided by RCSC.

LAWN BOWLING  – Revised 10/15/2020

  • No guests allowed.
  • Use of every rink with 2 bowlers allowed at end of each rink.
  • Use of every other rink with 3 or 4 bowlers allowed at end of each rink in use.
  • Always requires a minimum of 6 feet of physical distancing, regardless if in same family, excluding an occasional situation when such is not possible.
  • Limited use of tables and chairs always requiring 6 feet of physical distancing regardless if in same family.
  • Cardholders are required to sanitize before and after use of every RCSC piece of equipment, including seating, counters and tables, utilizing the sanitation method provided by RCSC.

LOCKER ROOMS, LOCKERS, CHANGING STALLS, SHOWERS, RESTROOMS

  • No guests allowed.
  • Always requires a strict minimum of 6 feet of physical distancing.
  • Face masks are required while indoors except in showers, indoor pools and indoor spas.
  • Lockers are not available, consider limiting personal belongings.
  • Reduced number of changing stalls and benches available.
  • Cardholders are required to sanitize before and after use of every RCSC piece of equipment, including seating, counters and tables, utilizing the sanitation method provided by RCSC.
  • Thorough hand washing strongly encouraged.

MINIATURE GOLF

  • Only 3 golfers (effective 9/1/2020) allowed per hole. No guests allowed.
  • Always requires a minimum of 6 feet of physical distancing, regardless if in same family, excluding an occasional situation when such is not possible.
  • RCSC to sanitize putters, balls, and scoring pencil after each use.
  • Cardholders are required to sanitize before and after use of every RCSC piece of equipment not sanitized by RCSC (see above), including seating, counters and tables, utilizing the sanitation method provided by RCSC.

PICKLEBALL – Revised 11/12/2020

  • Four players per court (effective 9/1/2020). No guests allowed.
  • Always requires a minimum of 6 feet of physical distancing, regardless if in same family, excluding an occasional situation when such is not possible.
  • Limited use of seating, benches, tables and chairs with required 6 feet physical distancing regardless if in same family.
  • Cardholders are required to sanitize before and after use of every RCSC piece of equipment, including seating, counters and tables, utilizing the sanitation method provided by RCSC.

POOL, LAP OR SWIMMING

  • No guests allowed. If lanes are provided, only one swimmer/user per lane. Sign up required to use lap lane(s) with 30-minute time limit.
  • Always requires a minimum of 6 feet of physical distancing, regardless if in same family, excluding an occasional situation when such is not possible.
  • Limited use of pool lounge chairs and patio tables with maximum of 2 chairs per table and required 6 feet physical distancing regardless if in same family.
  • No pool towels, sitting or lying allowed directly on pool deck.
  • Cardholders are required to sanitize before and after use of every RCSC piece of equipment, including seating, counters and tables, utilizing the sanitation method provided by RCSC.

POOL, WALKING

  • No guests allowed.
  • Masks are required in walking pool. Face masks are required to be cloth, fabric or other permeable material and must be worn over the mouth and nose, affixed either over the ears or tied around the head.

RACQUETBALL, HANDBALL, WHISPERBALL

  • Only 1 player per court. No guests allowed.
  • Cardholders are required to sanitize before and after use of every RCSC piece of equipment, including seating, counters and tables, utilizing the sanitation method provided by RCSC.

SHUFFLEBOARD – Indoor Reopened on Friday 9/4/2020; Revised 9/11/2020

  • No guests allowed.
  • Face masks are required at indoor courts. Only 2 players allowed at end of every other court.
  • Always requires a minimum of 6 feet of physical distancing, regardless if in same family, excluding an occasional situation when such is not possible.
  • Cardholders are required to sanitize before and after use of every RCSC piece of equipment (cues, disks, pins, etc.), including seating, counters and tables, utilizing the sanitation method provided by RCSC.

SOFTBALL & OUTDOOR TRACK – Revised 9/21/2020

  • Game play on the softball field may resume on October 19, 2020. No contact allowed. No guests allowed.
  • A minimum of 6 feet of physical distancing is required, regardless if in same family, excluding an occasional situation when such is not possible. Must chalk a line 6 feet behind home plate for visual cue to catcher in adhering to physical distancing.
  • Must sanitize player seating areas after the team has batted. Players are to be seated in the dugout, fence line benches, picnic tables, and first row of bleachers so that all players are physically distanced. Players should stay in one seating location for the half inning while on offence to eliminate the need to sanitize during the offensive half of the inning. These seating areas must be sprayed with sanitizer upon going into the field for the next defensive half inning.
  • Spectators are permitted provided that 6 feet physical distancing is adhered to at all times. Picnic tables and bleachers may be used by spectators. If bleachers are to be used, then available seats must be identified to ensure 6 feet physical distancing. The Softball Club will be responsible for ensuring both players and spectators comply with the 6 feet physical distancing requirement. The club shall provide sanitizing spray for use by spectators on seating after use. Spectators may bring their own seating provided that the placement and use of personal seating follows the 6 feet physical distancing requirement.
  • Limited use of stadium seating, tables and chairs with required 6 feet physical distancing regardless if in same family.
  • Cardholders are required to sanitize before and after use of every RCSC piece of equipment, including seating, counters and tables, utilizing the sanitation method provided.

SPAS

  • No guests allowed.
  • Always requires a minimum of 6 feet of physical distancing, regardless if in same family, excluding an occasional situation when such is not possible.
  • Limited use of pool lounge chairs and patio tables with maximum of 2 chairs per table and required 6 feet physical distancing regardless if in same family.
  • No pool towels, sitting or lying allowed directly on pool or spa deck.
  • Cardholders are required to sanitize before and after use of every RCSC piece of equipment, including seating, counters and tables, utilizing the sanitation method provided by RCSC.

TABLE TENNIS – Revised 11/12/2020 

  • Face masks are required. Only 2 players per table. No guests allowed.

TRACK – OUTDOORS

  • No guests allowed. Only 1 person per bench.
  • Always requires a minimum of 6 feet of physical distancing, regardless if in same family, excluding an occasional situation when such is not possible.
  • Cardholders are required to sanitize before and after use of every RCSC piece of equipment, including seating, counters and tables, utilizing the sanitation method provided by RCSC.

WALKING

  • All indoor walking allowed only at the indoor walking track at the Fairway Center. No guests allowed.
  • No use of auditoriums, social halls, hallways or other indoor RCSC facilities for walking is allowed.
