Celebrate the season with neighbors, family and friends while helping a great community organization at the Annual Sun City AZ Holiday Celebration on Friday, December 10, 2021 from 3:00 to 7:00pm at Lakeview Recreation Center.
There will be some new games in addition to the traditional Amazing Duck Race There’s sure to be fun for everyone as the community joins together winning pies playing Reindeer Yahtzee or trying their hand at Tic-Tac-Mistle Toe. The Mini-Golf Ho-Ho-Hole-in-One contest keeps putting right along (must use putters provided) and there will be gift basket raffles (valued at over $300 each).
The Money Tree will be back on the patio – where your donations will decorate the lighted tree and the lucky winner takes home not only the tree – but all the money decorations, too!
Proceeds from the Sun City AZ Holiday Celebration benefit The Sun City Foundation, who assist those less fortunate in the community with their annual property assessments so that they can continue to enjoy the recreational and social activities provided. This annual celebration is our way of saying “thanks” to the community and provides an opportunity for our residents to give back to the community!
The Amazing Duck Race is always a crowd pleaser as rubber ducks “race” down the Lakeview waterfall and across the lagoon. There will once again be two duck races with the top three finishers of each race splitting 50% of the Duck Buck sales proceeds and the other half going to The Sun City Foundation. Tickets, known as Duck Bucks, can be purchased prior to the event at the Cardholder Services Office (lower level at Lakeview), all facilities attendant stations, bowling centers and golf course pro shops. Duck Bucks cost a buck each and winners do not need to be present.
Ticket booths near the Lakeview Center’s mini-golf facility attendant station will open at 3:00p.m. on the day of the event so that everyone will have the opportunity to purchase tickets for all games including the Duck Race.
Santa and Mrs. Claus will be available for photos so don’t forget to bring your camera, tablet or smartphone. You’ll no doubt treasure this special memento from this fun-for-all community event for years to come.
Gourmet food trucks will be on-site for your dining pleasure. Coffee and cocoa will be available for purchase in the Social Hall along with free cupcakes. The night concludes with the traditional Lighted Boat Parade on Viewpoint Lake which will begin at dusk (boats leave Cameo Drive bridge at 6:15pm).
