USAF Band of the Golden West performs at Sun Bowl on April 24

The Recreation Centers of Sun City is pleased to announce a very special performance by The Commanders Jazz Ensemble of the USAF Band of the Golden West this Thursday at the Sun Bowl Amphitheater. The concert is scheduled to begin at 6:30p.m.

Under the direction of Master Sergeant Jeremiah True, The Commanders carry on the American musical tradition of the great traveling big bands, yet offers a lot more than the big band sounds. This energetic group of highly-trained professional airmen-musicians plays everything from traditional jazz, cool, bop and swing to Broadway favorites, popular tunes, Latin rhythms, and patriotic music. The Commanders offers an entertaining show you won’t soon forget!

Touring the western states of Arizona, California, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Utah and Washington, the US Air Force Band of the Golden West has performed for thousands of listeners in live concert appearances and for millions worldwide via its numerous recordings and television and radio broadcasts.

As the only active-duty Air Force band west of the Rockies, the Band of the Golden West is dedicated to using the power of music to inspire our Air Force members and the great nation we serve, producing innovative musical programs and products, and communicating Air Force excellence.

Concerts at the Sun Bowl are free to RCSC Cardholders and their invited guests. Attendees are advised to bring their own lawn chairs or blankets as seating closest to the stage is reserved for those arriving by bus who need assistance. Gourmet food vendors are on-site 1-1/2 hours prior to each performance for your dining pleasure.
