FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
RCSC Announces Rule Changes for Dog Park
The RCSC Board of Directors is moving forward with rule changes for the Duffeeland Dog Park after further discussion and in response to Member input.
Effective December 19, 2013, there will no longer be an RCSC Facilities Attendant at the location. Users of the park felt the cost of monitoring the facilities was unnecessary and the requirement for checking in with the monitor created a bottle-neck at the entrance which caused several problems as dogs were required to remain leashed in this area. Concerns were also raised about the number of dogs allowed to be brought to the facility by each owner/handler and it was determined that a maximum of three (3) dogs would be permissible.
In order to address how this change to an unmonitored facility will affect neighboring properties, the Board has also revised the hours of operation as follows:
Duffeeland will be closed the last Wednesday of each month for park maintenance. Use of this park at any other time is prohibited.
Owners/handlers must continue to follow all RCSC rules and regulations as posted at the facility in addition to Maricopa County Ordinance requirements. Users of this RCSC owned and operated facility will now use this park at their own risk and will be expected to oversee adherence of the rules by other users. The park remains available to RCSC Cardholders and their invited guests only; not the general public.
Park users who observe anyone failing to comply with the Rules and Regulations are asked to complete an RCSC Incident Report. A supply of these forms will be available and completed reports should be placed in the on-site locked drop box. Incident Reports are then reviewed by RCSC Management and appropriate action taken.
Duffeeland Dog Park is located at the southwest corner of Del Webb Blvd. and Thunderbird Rd. (adjacent to Washington Federal) in Sun City.
