Bocce is an easy game for everyone.
In Sun City, Bocce is played on a carpeted court, 12 feet wide by 70 feet long, well shaded at each end. There are 2 teams, usually with 4 players each. There are 8 Bocce Balls and a smaller ball called a Pallino. The Pallino is thrown down the court and teams try to throw their Bocce Balls as close as possible to the Pallino. Balls may be thrown straight or banked off the sides. 1 to 4 points are awarded to the team that throws their balls closest to the Pallino.
Members of the Bocce Club also participate competitive tournaments and various charity games with Bocce clubs around the area.
Open houses are held each year and newcomers are welcome at any time.
Free lessons and all equipment is furnished. Nothing to buy. Open to all RCSC Cardholders and their escorted guests.
