Bell Silvercraft

Bell Silvercraft became a RCSC chartered club in 1976 when the Bell Recreation Center opened. From the outset, emphasis was placed on creating quality sterling silver jewelry within a friendly and helpful environment. It has been our tradition to establish a very active class and training program.

When a new member joins, they are introduced to a variety of sterling silver techniques, including basic soldering skills, creating and making custom bezels for cabochons along with the safe and proper use of professional equipment available for your use. This introductory class will lead you through the process of creating your own custom ring with mounted cabochon, as well as a sterling silver bracelet. These classes are taught by one of our skilled and experienced members with a limit of 4 students per class, so you will have ample opportunity for one-on-one instruction and guidance.

Once you have completed this class, you will be able to use the basic tools and silver techniques to start creating your own sterling silver jewelry. This isn’t the end of the training opportunities available. There are many classes on advanced techniques and the other types of silver work that we offer, including lost wax casting, broom straw casting, and inlay work.  Chainmail, twisted wire work, along with a variety of bracelet and choker techniques and styles are examples of additional techniques taught along with specialized equipment techniques using a hydraulic press, arc welder, and countless specialized tools.

We also offer many demonstrations on soldering and fabricating techniques.  This dedication to helping our members is what has established our reputation for creating high quality and creative silver work that is hard to surpass. As your skills improve, you may want to submit your silver work to be placed in our sales room.
