The Sun City Concert Band was organized in 1979 by Clancy Wolf and initially had a nucleus of 20 members who also played in Clancy’s polka band. Today the concert band is comprised of approximately 80 members, with various backgrounds. Members must possess the requisite talent to play their instruments and enjoy the preparation of good music performed at concerts for the enjoyment of the community. The band plays a wide variety of music but focuses on traditional concert band literature.
The band is directed by Ken Jaeger and associate director Charles Musgrave.
The band rehearses weekly on Tuesday mornings at the Fairway Recreation Center from 9-11am from September through April. We perform four concerts each year: Fall, Christmas, Sousa, and Spring.
