Fairway/Mountain View Lawn Bowls

Although a combined club, the Fairway/Mountain View Lawn Bowls club has two locations, and two unique opportunities for lawn bowlers.

Mountainview Lawn Bowls

“The friendliest club. The social club. Always looking for an excuse to fire up the grill and invite a party”

That’s what people say about…Mountain View Lawn Bowls.

We also have free lessons including the particular use of an arm, coffee pot always on, special aids for those needing extra assistance (steps down to the greens), practice/loaner bowls in all sizes – everyone welcome at all times.

Nestled in the eastern portion of Mountain View Recreation Center, lawn bowling takes a center stage feel as all potential members and those curious onlookers are drawn to their welcoming atmosphere and smiling members. Don’t let it ever be said that lawn bowling is tedious and way too serious to make it a fun event…ask any member of Mountain View; they love the game and the interaction with fellow new and seasoned members – sunshine, exercise and friendships are at hand.

Location: Mountain View Recreation Center

Club Hours: Winter and Spring

  • Tags in at 8:45 AM daily
  • Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: Bowling
  • During summer there is an adjustment to the starting time to compensate for weather changes.

The greens are always open for practice.

Some of the events Mountain View members value are:

  • October: Halloween – bowling, barbeque and a great costume party with prizes.
  • November: Thanksgiving potluck – Fun bowling game early with a great appetizer/potluck following
  • December: Getting together with friends at the annual Lawn Bowling Holiday party (all clubs).  Can you dance? Then come on down.
    • Hacksaw tournament: For those bowlers who find using the arm enhances their physical comfort and continued enjoyment of the game for much more time to come.
  • January: Annual membership meeting, special game bowling and hamburger dinner at Fairway Club.
  • February: Annual SUPER SENIORS tournament and luncheon.  All seniors 80 years plus and those reaching 80 during the current year are welcome to enjoy a great game, friendship and complimentary seated luncheon served by Mountain View staff.
  • March: Skip/Novice Tournament.  Great for new bowlers to tout their skills and interact with seasoned skips.
    • Patrick’s Day bowling and fired up grill with dogs and great member side dishes (love those deviled eggs and potato salad).
