The Men and women of Lakeview Woodworking Club would like to invite you to tap into your creative self and do a little woodworking with us. Whether you’re a novice or master woodworker we have a place for you. The shop offers all the amenities that one would expect in a woodshop and more. It’s a wonderful feeling to create something with you own hands. It could be anything from a kid’s toy to kitchen cabinets. If you can imagine it we have the shop to achieve it. We have a pretty good library with how to and project books
Safety is a priority with us. Classes are offered on safety and how to use the machinery. There are always at least two monitors on the floor to answer questions. If they don’t know the answer they will find someone who does. Our members are always willing to help.
We have seven lathes for anyone interested in turning and six scroll saws with classes available upon request. Also three table saws, three chop saws , two joiners, seven bandsaws, two large drum sanders and the list goes on and on. The club has around 100 to 150 members.
The first Tuesday each month (Oct thru April) we have a shop meeting. It’s a time to have some coffee, donuts and discuss shop business and meet new members. In Nov. we vote on the club’s Board of Directors, President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. Anyone is welcome to run and everyone has a vote. During our meeting the President gives a rundown of what’s happening concerning the shop. The Treasurer gives an account of our finances. Secretary reads the previous minutes. You can ask questions or voice ideas or concerns you might have.
We are in the Annual Craft Fair that’s the weekend after Thanksgiving. Also our Annual Shop Dinner is in February and is a lot of fun.
This is a perfect place to make new friends and maybe learn something new while pursuing your hobby. Grab your tape measure and let’s make some sawdust.
