Mah Jongg is a fascinating, rummy-like game played with tiles rather than cards. It requires strategy, mental agility and, of course, some good old-fashioned luck.
You play as an individual (no partners or teams) against one to four other players. The goal is to make runs, pairs, even and/or odd numbered combinations that match the sequences designated on the National Mah Jongg League card. The game is engaging, challenging, and a lot of fun!
The club is a group of enthusiasts that play at all levels of competency from beginners who just learned to play to players with decades of experience. Most participants play for a modest amount of money with a loss cap of $4, however; some groups may elect to play just for fun. Bring your current National Mah Jongg League card and join us. Membership is open to all RCSC card holders for $5 per year. Guests are also welcome to join us for $2.50 per day.
Lessons are available once a year in January. Please see the November issue of the Sun City Update for more information and to register for the classes.
