The mission of the Sundial Craft Club is to: Provide a welcoming environment for crafters to gather and share their time, talent, and treasures, creating items for donations for those in need, along with their own use. Sundial Craft Club members work tirelessly in creating items for the local nursing homes, adult day health center, hospice, school district, services for veterans and services serving victims of domestic violence. A wide variety of items are handcrafted to meet a variety of needs.
The club offers many opportunities for developing and advancing skills in a variety of crafting pursuits. These include knitting and crocheting, card making, scrapbooking, crystal art, heritage albums and more as new crafts are introduced. The design and composition of creations made by club members are welcomed by the many recipients of these products.
Scrapbooking has developed a unique product that provides a picture page for residents in local nursing homes to have in their room with a picture of themselves or family members which not only provide decoration for the room but also serve as a reminder of family and friends. This can also be used as an orienting tool for persons to direct them to their room. One cannot always know the impact a given craft item can have on an individual.
