RCSC Statement Regarding COVID-19

Dear RCSC Cardholders:

The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) reports that for the general American public, who are unlikely to be exposed to this virus at this time, the immediate health risk from coronavirus (COVID-19) is considered low. The Recreation Centers of Sun City Inc. (RCSC) has standard procedures in place for cleaning of all RCSC facilities. This includes using recommended disinfecting systems to clean facilities several times throughout the day as you have trusted us to do through the years. We are focusing our attention on cleaning touch point surfaces, door handles, railings and other surfaces that residents encounter frequently. Our cleaning agent is hospital-grade and is consistent with guidelines from the CDC for controlling the spread of viruses.

Information about COVID-19 continues to evolve and RCSC is staying up to date of the latest information from the CDC and Arizona Department of Health Services. Should our operations require any adjustment, we are prepared to make those changes.

The CDC advises the best way to control the spread of illness and protect yourself is to do the following:

• Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.
• If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol. Always wash hands with soap and water if hands are visibly dirty.
• Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
• Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
• Stay home when you are sick.
• Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
• Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe.

All RCSC fitness centers are equipped with disinfecting sprays and paper towels to wipe down equipment prior to and after use. The CDC recommends hand washing as the primary effective prevention strategy and RCSC facilities provide ample opportunity to do so. In addition, individuals can of course bring their own hand sanitizers if they choose to do so. It is important that each individual assess their own health conditions, particularly those that place them at a higher risk of infection from respiratory diseases and take preventative measures to lessen exposure risks.
