Over the past several years, RCSC has used GolfNow.com for its public play golf program, selling unused, off-peak tee times to generate additional revenue for the golf division, which has helped keep down costs for RCSC cardholders. To pay for this service, RCSC gives GolfNow one tee time per day for each course that is listed on the GolfNow.com website that GolfNow can sell at any price. Revenue from the sale of these tee times goes to GolfNow and not RCSC. All other tee times sold on GolfNow generate revenue for RCSC.
Some cardholders have said that tee times on GolfNow are sometimes lower than the present cardholder rate. Although this may occur with the one trade tee time that RCSC provides GolfNow to pay for the service, it is not the norm. GolfNow’s current rate is $36 plus tax, in addition to a booking fee of $2. The total cost comes to around $40, whereas an RCSC cardholder pays $26 including tax without a golf cart. Plus, GolfNow can only book three days ahead, whereas RCSC cardholders can book five days in advance, so those who may book on GolfNow are not getting a better deal than RCSC cardholders. Also, times currently listed on GolfNow after 1pm are listed at our normal twilight public rates and are not discounted. We are merely utilizing the GolfNow website to advertise available times.
