The RCSC Board of Directors has appointed Carey Shore to fill the vacant seat created by the resignation of former director, Phil Cook. Shore will be sworn in at the January 27 Board Meeting. He will serve for the remainder of 2011.
The Board of Directors chose Shore based on his qualifications and previous service on the Board, having been elected to a one-year term in 2009. Shore did not seek re-election this past fall due to personal matters that have since changed, which allowed him to seek the vacant seat via appointment. He will be able to run for a full three-year term in the upcoming election later this year.
When he is sworn in, Shore will hit the ground running. Board President Vance Coleman has already named him as Co-Chair of several committees. Shore will serve as Co-Chair to the following committees: Entertainment, Lawn Bowling and Properties. He will also serve as liaison to the Sun City Posse.
The Board interviewed two other Members for the appointment earlier this month.
