Pro Shops
The North Course reopened on October 18 following the renovation. In the first 5 days of being reopened, 1,270 rounds were played, an average of 254 rounds per day. Response from golfers has been overwhelmingly positive, from the first tee to the 19th hole. We thank everyone in RCSC for their efforts, in particular the North maintenance staff and the Buildings and Infrastructure staff, that made this project a success. In particular we thank Rick Stoffel (course superintendent), Vern White (Building and Infrastructure Coordinator) and Janice Boyer (snack shop manger). Their efforts ensured a successful project and a successful opening.
Applications for the North Pro Am are now available, which will celebrate the North renovation. The Pro Am will be held on December 11th, with a 9:00 a.m. shotgun, with an awards luncheon following play at Mountain View. Teams will consist of three amateur residents/guests and one local professional. In addition to celebrating North we will also be raising funds for the RCSC Management Team’s chosen charity, which this year is the Sun City Posse.
Willowcreek has reopened from overseeding with the new clothing line for the 2014/2015 season. We encourage anyone in the market for new golf apparel to stop by Willowcreek/Willowbrook and check out the new and reasonably priced items. In addition we encourage anyone in the market for new golf equipment to allow us to provide a price, before buying outside of RCSC. We can order from any vendor and can generally match the “big box” stores prices on new equipment. Sales of golf equipment and merchandise directly benefit the RCSC golf division.
Following the bidding process, Wadsworth Golf Construction has been chosen as the contractor for the Riverview renovation. The Riverview renovation will be as complete as the North renovation. Tees will be leveled and expanded, bunkers renovated, a new irrigation system installed and the green complexes renovated. We are looking forward to another successful project. The course will close December 1, 2014 with the reopening planned for late October 2015.
Snack Shops
Through August total F&B revenues have exceeded budget by nearly $18,000, we continue to thank everyone for their Snack Shop support. Snack shops will extend their hours of operation to 5:00 p.m. beginning November 1.
Golf Courses
Golf courses have completed overseeding and are in various stages of growth. Willowcreek, Riverview, Quail Run and North are open without cart path restrictions. South and Lakes East are open with cart path restrictions in place, Lakes West and Willowbrook will open November 8th with cart path restrictions in place. We have been successful so far this year in removing cart path restrictions earlier than normal, we will notify by email if restrictions are to be lifted ahead of schedule for the remaining courses.
