RCSC General Manager Jan Ek earns PCAM designation

January 31, 2012  |  The Professional Community Association Manager (“PCAM”) designation is the highest professional recognition available nationwide to managers who specialize in community management. General Manager Jan Ek has been awarded the PCAM, the pinnacle of community association management. This designation is awarded only to qualified community managers who demonstrate advanced skills and knowledge and who are eligible to be recognized as the best and most experienced community managers in the nation.

Prior to completing her case study in December, GM Ek had completed years of education in community management, successfully completing each course specializing in facilities management, communications, community leadership, community governance, risk management and financial management. In addition, she has been required to maintain her Certified Manager of Community Associations (“CMCA”) certification received from the National Board of Certifications that confirmed Ms. Ek had comprehensive knowledge regarding community association management. Jan will continue to be required to meet continuing education requirements to maintain her designations and certifications.

“Although I had been in community management since 1979, I was unaware of the availability of this education and certification process until I came to Arizona,” Jan stated. “I would recommend to anyone and everyone involved in community association management to become an active member of the Community Associations Institute so they can take advantage of the education and information provided. I have a network of over 400 large-scale community managers throughout the United States, who I can access for their experience and information whenever needed, which has proven to be a significant benefit to Sun City.”
